About day trip from Rome to Montecelio

This incredible day trip from Rome starts in the morning at Guidonia train station, and we going to our incredible Italian cooking class. Afterwards we will have our lunch, taste 2 exclusively Italian wines, and limoncello tasting after lunch. In the afternoon guided tour of the local museum in Montecelio and then free time to explore the city, At the end of the day catch the transfer and return to Guidonia station and back to Rome.



Montecelio is located in the municipality of Guidonia, and has Paleolithic origins, it was once a kingdom in the medieval period. It is located on top of two Roman mountains. And it houses an incredible museum where we will take a guided tour, discovering the most exclusive works of art from ancient Rome, this is because the valley around the mountain was home to large vacation residences for the Roman aristocracy, including the vacation residence of Emperor Hadrian. And everything found is taken to the Montecelio museum.

Curiosity about location

The Roman pinsa is a typical traditional piatto that rises during the period of Ancient Rome in fact the term “pinsa” itself derives from the “pinsère” which means in Latin allungare. But we don’t know about the product but it looks like an oval, fragrant and aromatic focaccia. Invece ha una ricetta tutta tutta. And it was in Guidonia a few decades ago that Mr. di Marco reinvented the Roman Pinsa, exporting his product all over the world.

  2. Ricotta and spinach ravioli with butter and sage

There are two ways, it’s very easy:

1. You can take metro B from Termini towards Rebibbia and get off at Tiburtina Metro station. Then you look at the sign to see which train it is, usually the binary one is 1 est, but ask if it’s going to Guidonia before getting on the train. After Bagni di Tivoli station, your destination is Guidonia station.

2. Take a taxi and go to Tiburtina station, go up to the first floor at the station, buy your ticket and go to Then you look on the sign which train it is, usually the binary one is 1 est, but ask if it goes to Guidonia before boarding the train.

It’s very easy and you have three options:

1. At the Treitalia store on the first floor of Tiburtina station
2. On the red Trenitalia machines, located on the first floor of Tiburtina station.
3. Using the Trenitalia App, you can buy a ticket or from the machines on the first floor of the station.


In options 1 and 2, remember to validate your tickets at the machines located at the ticket booth.
